Bring the golf course home. Daydream Outdoor Living designs and installs custom artificial turf putting greens for homeowners across Orlando and Central Florida

With over 170 golf courses within an hour of downtown Orlando, Central Florida is one of the most golf-obsessed markets in the country. Serious golfers here know that putting is where strokes are won and lost — and that consistent practice on a quality surface is the fastest way to improve.
A backyard putting green from Daydream means you can work on your stroke before breakfast, late in the evening, or any time the mood strikes — without driving to the club, waiting for a green to open, or practicing on a carpet mat in your garage.
It's also one of the most talked-about outdoor living upgrades in Central Florida right now. Homes with custom putting greens photograph beautifully, create a resort-like atmosphere, and generate genuine interest when it comes time to sell.
Backyard Putting Greens Our most popular installation. We work with you to design a green that fits your available yard space — whether that's a compact 200 sq ft practice area or a sprawling 1,500+ sq ft multi-hole layout. Every green is built with realistic undulations and breaks, so you're practicing on a surface that behaves like a real course, not a flat practice mat.
Chipping & Short Game Areas Want to work on more than just putting? We can incorporate designated chipping zones and rough-texture fringe turf around the green so you're practicing full short-game sequences — chips, pitches, bunker shots, and putts — all in one space.
Fringe & Collar Turf The transition from green to fringe makes a huge difference in both the realism of play and the visual impact of the installation. We use a slightly longer-pile turf for fringe areas that frames the green beautifully and creates that clean course aesthetic.

Not all artificial turf performs like a real putting green. Landscape turf — even high-quality residential turf — is designed for appearance, not ball roll. A proper putting green requires a specialized, short-pile nylon or polypropylene turf engineered for consistent stimp speed and true ball roll.
At Daydream, we use professional-grade putting green turf products built specifically for Florida's climate — UV-stabilized to resist fading, designed to drain rapidly during heavy rain, and engineered to maintain consistent performance over years of use.
We'll also discuss pace of play with you. Want a slower, more forgiving green for casual practice? A faster, tour-speed surface to sharpen your competitive edge? We can customize the stimp reading of your green to match your goals.
Backyard putting greens in Central Florida need to handle conditions that would ruin lesser installations:
Intense UV exposure — Florida's sun fades inferior turf products quickly. We use UV-stabilized turf that maintains its color and integrity through years of direct sun.
Heavy summer rainfall — A poorly built green becomes a puddle after every afternoon storm. Every Daydream putting green is installed with engineered drainage below the surface that clears water rapidly — the green is playable again within minutes of a downpour.
Heat — Turf surface temperatures in full Florida sun can run hot. We source turf products with heat-reducing fiber technology that keeps surface temps meaningfully lower than standard synthetic turf, and our base installation includes proper airflow considerations.
Humidity & mold resistance — Florida's humidity can create moss, mold, or organic buildup on improperly installed greens. Our installation methods and turf products are selected to resist this from the ground up.

Putting green costs vary based on size, complexity, and features like bunkers or chipping areas. Most residential installations in the Orlando area range from $15–$30+ per square foot installed. A basic 300–400 sq ft backyard green typically runs $6,000–$10,000; larger or more complex builds go higher. We'll give you an accurate number after seeing your space.
Most residential putting green installations take 1–3 days depending on size and complexity.
In most cases, no — a ground-level artificial turf putting green does not require a permit. If your project includes structures, lighting, or significant grading, we'll advise you accordingly during your estimate.
On a properly installed professional-grade putting green turf, ball roll is very realistic. The key is using the right turf product (not landscape turf) and installing it on a properly prepared base with realistic contours. We can control the stimp reading — slower or faster — based on your preference.
Surface temps on synthetic turf in direct sun run warmer than natural grass, but we use heat-reducing fiber technology that keeps our putting green surfaces meaningfully cooler than standard turf products. Morning and evening play in Florida's climate is always comfortable. Afternoon summer play in direct sun is warmer, similar to any exposed outdoor surface.
High-quality professional putting green turf is built to last 15–20+ years with normal use and basic maintenance.
Very little. Occasional brushing to keep fibers standing, rinsing off debris after storms, and a leaf blower for leaves and organic matter. No mowing, watering, or fertilizing — ever.
